Sir Alex Ferguson left the bulk of his big names back in England for Wednesday's 1-1 draw, but Rooney was among those to feature at Stadio Olimpico.
He captained United for the first time and, having been sidelined with foot and ankle injuries already this season, is in no mood to sit out any more matches. & W h- V/ j( `6 v3 M" S. I
"I've missed enough games this season to be sitting out of any game," Rooney told Sky Sports News.
"I want to play in all the games. I didn't want to miss any more, especially after the start of the season. It was good for me to have a run-out tonight.
"I think with each game you get fitter and I'm feeling good now. Hopefully the break I've had could help me towards the end of the season."
The striker also believes the likes of Gerard Pique, who scored United's goal, and Jonny Evans will benefit from the experience of playing against Roma.
