Kia Joorabchian, the player's representative, insists he owns the player's economic rights, with personal terms having been agreed with the Premier League champions. But West Ham hold his playing registration and revealed last week that Tevez is under contract at Upton Park until 2010. The Premier League are believed to have requested the Hammers receive the majority of any transfer fee for the striker. There have also been suggestions that the Football Association and Fifa could be asked to intervene to smooth the player's move to Old Trafford. Though Fifa has yet to be dragged into the matter, a spokesman confirmed the organisation would be prepared to offer any assistance necessary. "We have not received any official request from any of the parties involved so far," said a Fifa spokesman. "If we do receive a request we would then decide whether we have to look at it or if it is up to the FA to rule on it.
