Gary Neville, Dimitar Berbatov and Danny Welbeck all missed training on Monday morning ahead of the Reds' Champions League clash with Villarreal.曼联在线·球迷地带7 K) V. X* }/ y( [
The United skipper is still nursing a groin strain, picked up in the Carling Cup win over QPR. Sir Alex Ferguson said last week that he expected his captain to be missing for "maybe a couple of weeks," meaning he is also unlikely to feature in Sunday's Manchester derby.
Berbatov will miss the trip to Spain with a hamstring injury sustained whilst on international duty for Bulgaria last week, while fellow striker Welbeck also sat out training.
Cristiano Ronaldo trained despite limping out of Saturday's goalless draw at Aston Villa. He was labelled a doubt by Sir Alex after the game, but looked lively during the Reds' morning session.
Paul Scholes, meanwhile, is making good progress with his recovery from knee ligament damage. The midfielder trained with his colleagues on Monday, but is still a few weeks away from returning to action.
"Scholesy is coming along fine," said Sir Alex last Friday. "I think he’ll be ready for the week of the Tottenham game. He’s started to involve himself in first team training, not all of it, but some of it.
"Funnily enough he always makes good progress with injuries like this and it’s the same this time. So he’s not far away, but still a few weeks yet."% s! o5 i8 {2 F! N2 ~, A6 T: a$ ~" s: w
